The NAACP needs our help

The voting crisis is becoming more and more critical with each passing day.

Every day we are reminded how fragile the civil rights and social justice agenda is in America. There is a very real threat that our nation will move backward if we do not speak out.

And while the NAACP fully embraces the expression of all political views in our democracy, it is our responsibility to show that the will of this nation is to move forward.

That starts with you. Get people to the polls by calling voters in the states that need it most, like North Carolina. It is simple -- we even made a short video to help get you started:

Democracy provides us with a platform to speak out against extremists who seek to undermine democratic discourse itself.

With each vote cast in support of civil rights advocates and leaders in the equality movement, we reassert the very beliefs that founded the NAACP over one century ago: ensuring a society in which all individuals have equal rights without discrimination based on race.

That is why we need your help to Get Out the Vote this election. Pick up the phone and call 10 people who may be losing faith in the power of the vote, and remind them why their voice matters:

It is our responsibility to ensure that the democratic process proves itself at the polls.

Thanks for doing your part,

Ben Jealous
President and CEO
